Display and Design

The Realme phones are known for unusual back panels. On the Realme 7 there is a mirror-split effect that gives off these beautiful patterns it reflects light. You can get the device in either the Mist Blue and white colour. TheSIM trays, volume buttons, fingerprint sensors, ports are still in the same places.

The first new design element is the rear camera module. Next is the device build that is 9.4mm thicker and 196.5g heavier owing to a bigger battery. In some cases, the device might be a bit tough to use single handedly. Still, the device does have good ergonomics, complete with a plasticback panel and frame. You can use a microSD card and two Nano-SIMs with the phone.

The screen is similar to that of theRealme 6 – a 6.5-inch full-HD+ LCD screen with a punch hole camera cutout and Gorilla Glass 3 coating. The screen is a pretty bright one that renders well saturated colors.

And inside the box, you have all the essentials peripherals you’d expect with a decent budget phone - USB cable, case and 30W fast charger.

Realme 7 Cases and Covers Delivered at your Doorstep

Variants come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage and 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage priced at Rs. 14,999 andRs. 16,999.

The prime benefit is theMediaTek Helio G95 SoC that is one step from theHelio G90T present in the Relame 6. It has been improved with anintegrated Mali-G76 GPU that has a 900Mhz speed.

Of course, no Relame phone is complete without the Realme UI and things are no different here. The UI is built on the Android 10 OS and is very smooth. You will notice how navigating through apps and the rest of the interface is quicker, even on the 8GB RAM variant. Apps opened quickly and everything seems better with the 90Hz refresh rate.

Realme has included a collection of wonderfullive wallpapers, good utilities like the Smart Sidebar, screen recorder, shortcuts andgestures.

The phone does excel when it comes to gaming. This is thanks to the Cortex-A76 performance cores with 2.05GHz speeds and 6 2 GHz Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. Performance is satisfactory for a budget device and is noticeably faster than the Realme 6. In fact, quite a few game apps played out brilliantly when running them on the highest graphics settings. One more interesting feature is theGame Space app where keep all your favorite games, access screen recordings and WhatsApp messages even during gameplay.

According to the GFXBench and AnTuTu tests, there wasn’t much difference between Realme 7 and its successor – the Realme 6. But because theRealme 7 has stronger GPU and cores and the addition of a carbon fibre cooling system, the device doesn’t heat up after prolonged gameplay. You can order cases for Realme 7 from the comfort of your home, while we would make sure to deliver you a beautiful cover super quick.

Video and streaming is when this device truly shines with decent audio playback levels- even if there is noHDR support.

Battery backup

Since this is a budget device, its next best feature is a huge 5,000mAh battery. It lasts for and entire day with light to medium usage. And, you can charge the battery quickly as it has 30W Dart Charge fast charging.

Cameras are mid-performance lenses and are unlike what you’d get on a premium device. That said, the 64 megapixels primary rear camera is the jewel in the crown, now upgraded withthe Sony IMX682 sensor over the Samsung GW1 sensor. The software is equipped with an ultra HD algorithm that delivers better clarity and exceptional detail. This was something that was missing on the Realme 6 device.

All images that we captured using this lens containedsmoother textures but were grainy, even after zooming in. The default photo mode appears to be a better performer, and images captured have great exposure and dynamic range. Images created using the Night mode were nice and were cleaner. Other camera app features like close-ups,autofocus render well on images. All our back cases have precision cut-outs which ensure that you have access to all the ports, buttons and cameras on Realme 7 without any hindrance.

The rest of the camera specifications have been included on the Realme 6 = the ultra wide-angle camera captures plenty of detail with weaker colours. This can be fixed using the image crop setting. The 2MP camera are weaker and this shows in the images captured in daylight.

Next is the 16-MP selfie camera that delivers good shots but you have to adjust the HDR mode first. Like most selfie cameras, this lens excels in thePortrait mode and effectively manages to blur out the background. Night mode is a bit too sharp – again, you have to adjust settings here as well.

The Realme 7 has features like the 4Kvideo recording, but without the stabilization you’re left with 1080p limited resolution and shaky shots. Other downsides with video recording are super grainy results fewer details.

Pros and Cons

Like all other budget devices, you have to get your hands on the phone and use it before deciding if its for you. TheRealme 7 Pro is a great device that offers good value for money but there are a few drawbacks.

Some great highlights include theAMOLED display, ergonomic design and awesome dart charging convenience. The camera lens maybe 64MP but even at this price bracket there are mixed reviews on it. This could be where the device loses out – after all it has to complete with devices like the Samsung Galaxy M31s, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Poco X2.

Media streaming is a pleasure thanks to the Super AMOLED screen and the good sound speakers. Performance is adequate and is matched with amazing battery life and fast charging.
